LET’S GET BACK TO THE KITCHEN

Two of the things we all need to keep doing even as we self-isolate is to cook and to eat.

Have a plan when you go shopping because there is a supply shortage of certain items in the supermarkets. What is interesting is that there is  plenty of puff pastry in the freezers as well as lots of fresh vegetables and fruits.

This simple tart, which is not only tasty and crunchy, will create a beautiful aroma all over your house giving you a sense of comfort and well-being in these uncertain times.

All the ingredients below, except for the puff pastry, can be substituted.

  • Apples can be substituted for apricots, nectarines, peaches or plums.
  • Apricot Jam can be substituted with raspberry jam, strawberry jam, orange marmalade or plum jam.
  • Demerara sugar can be substituted with brown sugar, or just plain sugar.

ONLY FOUR INGREDIENTS
Apples, apricot jam, Demerara sugar and puff pastry.

TIPS

  • The easiest way to cut puff pastry is to use kitchen scissors.
